Stutt stopp
Pit Stop

2026 / 28.08. - 04.09.
Exhibition in the Polish grocery store Euromarket, as a part of Hamraborg Festival, Kópavogur, Iceland.

Við stoppum stutt og handleikum umbúðir úr pappír, plasti, málmi og gleri. Hlutirnir snertast, mynda keðjur eða pör. Síendurtekin form leiða okkur áfram eins og vegstikur. Ólík gildi eru sorteruð eftir lit, hæð og lögun og komið vandlega fyrir inn í skífu- eða súluritum. Dagatöl skipta tímanum upp í rúður eins og afmælisköku sem er deilt jafnt á milli gesta.

Við stoppum stutt, verðum að punkti og horfum á línuna teiknast í loftið, yfir til næsta punkts. Smám saman birtist myndin.

We make pit stops to examine wrappings of paper, plastic, metal, and glass. The objects are touching, forming chains or pairs. Repeated shapes guide our eyes like road posts. Different values are sorted by color, height, and form, and carefully arranged into pie charts or bar charts. Calendars divide time into squares, like a birthday cake evenly shared between guests.

We make a pit stop, turn into a dot, and watch the line get drawn into space, reaching the next dot. Slowly, the image appears.
